A+ Workshops continues to grow, staying the pace with the evolving education field in order to fulfill the professional development needs of teachers and administrators across the country. Motivated by your feedback and suggestions, we’ve taken the initiative to develop two new, advanced-level workshops which will be offered beginning in fall 2011. Our Advanced SMART Notebook and Advanced Six Traits of Writing workshops have been designed specifically for educators who want to take the foundational skills they already possess to the next level. If you have a strong background in Six Traits or SMART software—either by having participated in a previous A+ Workshop on the subject(s) or through your own experiences—and want to advance your skills and knowledge even further, we invite you to join us this fall to experience some of the highest-quality and most applicable advanced teacher training available today.
A Closer Look at Advanced SMART Notebook
This workshop will focus on the best and most efficient methods of instruction and implementation when utilizing SMART Notebook software. Participants will learn how to create advanced reinforcers using animation, audio and page advancement techniques and how to provide their students with an extremely powerful, interactive learning experience. Educators will leave the workshop with an abundance of tools and knowledge to aid in developing their own exciting and engaging lessons.
Expanding Your Skills with Advanced Six Traits of Writing
In this workshop, participants will engage in a deeper exploration of the Six Traits of Writing and learn proven strategies to create a community of confident writers. For each trait, participants will explore an example mini-lesson and interactive whiteboard lesson as well as literature and Web 2.0 technology connections. The workshop also highlights common pitfalls in student writing assessment and the classroom writing environment. Participants will leave the workshop with the ability to identify the needs of their students and with a wealth of information and resources that will help provide their students with the tools necessary to become better writers.
